The Rose Tattoo House was a studio project designed for the artist Kat Von D on a narrow urban lot. The project explored how a constrained site could be transformed through vertical organization and layered spatial experiences. Key design features included a rooftop deck with an integrated pool, a koi pond with a pass-through condition beneath the structure connecting the house and garage, and a custom staircase that served as both circulation and sculptural element. Along the driveway, a rose tattoo–inspired concrete and plaster wall was introduced as a defining architectural feature, merging material expression with the client’s artistic identity.
